National Ribbon Skirt Day was created in honour of elementary school student Isabella Kulak from the Cote First Nation, and is recognized each January. Horizon students and staff are invited to wear ribbon skirts and shirts on January 9, 2025, following the winter school break.

The last day of school before Christmas Break is on Friday, December 20. There will be no school for students on Monday, January 6 as it will be a Personal Professional Day for teachers. Classes will resume with Day 6 on Tuesday, January 7.
