This spring, the Annaheim SCC organized a Career Fair for students in grades 7-12. Students were polled to see what kind of careers they would be interested in learning about, and then the SCC set to work to find accomplished and willing presenters in those career fields. The SCC was able to put together a morning full of learning for the students that enabled them to participate in six career presentations over the course of the Career Fair. Lake Lenore School was able to virtually join in on the day.
Presenters shared important and interesting information about their careers, including schooling, a typical day, challenges of the job, advice for students, and other potential career options in their field.
Students were happy with the selections for the day, which included careers in health care, mechanics, engineering, finance, agriculture, education, sports, social media, and mining. We were very excited to be able to welcome back some of our alumni as presenters, and were grateful to all presenters for the thought and time that they put into the day.
A huge thank you to the SCC for all of their hard work organizing this event, and to the 14 presenters who were able to come spend time with our students.
